As per my random desires to post without an actual topic, here are a few random news items from my world.
Today an art teacher brought in some baby chicks. They were so adorable. I made friends with one, her name is Topsy. She was one of the loudest chicks in the room because she was so cold but when I held her she got really quiet and pressed her head up against my hand and pecked at me a little bit. Apparently I had warmer hands than anybody else. It was so sweet, I just didn't want to let her go because it made me feel bad when she'd start her really loud peeping again. I feel like I should mention that I don't take any sort of art class, I just happen to have a soft spot for animals.
Our school's literary magazine is almost done accepting submissions. I think a few of my short stories from my creative writing class were submitted, but I don't know if any were accepted. I should put some of those stories up here at a later date. I'm too lazy to track them down right now.
I have recently, thanks to a film analysis project for one of my classes, discovered the works of Akira Kurosawa. I have to say I'm sad that I caved in to doing a Japanese film (I feel like I caved to some sort of peer pressure), but Kurosawa is one great director. Of course, you might not think so if you don't like subtitled or old black-and-white movies. If those aren't for you, don't even bother. If you're open to those, though, look him up.
