I'm in the middle of finals week, my last week of my sophomore year of high school. In another two days summer vacation starts and I'll be half-way through high school.
I'll admit this scares me a bit. I'm still not sure what college I want to go to. All I know is I want a small school with a good writing program. A big university focusing on math and science and business...not my thing. I'm a liberal arts kind of person. This is a starting point, but not much.
Also, am I the only high schooler a little bit afraid of the time when I have to start fending for myself? I mean, sure it's exciting and I'm sure I'll be ready for it and all, but it still seems a bit daunting.
Anyways, that kind of wasn't the point of me writing this. The point is it's almost summer! I love summer. I get to actually see my friends, spend time at the pool, read and write and watch movies and T.V. shows all I want. And no waking up early!
While I don't have much planned for the summer, unlike a lot of people I know, I'm okay with that. I like having time to relax a bit. Besides, I'll be able to actually make progress with my stories now that I don't have a ton of school work to worry about. Would you guys like it if I post more stories on here? I've given you two so far, but I haven't heard any feed back so I don't know if the 2 of so people who read this blog on a regular basis actually enjoyed them or not. At any rate, it would be a while before I put another one up anyways.
More soon,
Callie

Caste Season Finale SPOILERS!
Normally I don't review T.V. show episodes. That would get tedious. But in this case I must say something. I mean, it was just...wow.
First of all, who would have thought Montgomery of all people was involved in Beckett's mom's case? I mean him, a dirty cop on some level? I can't say I'm mad at him, though, he did most certainly die a hero. I'm gonna miss Montgomery, it's just too bad it had to end like this for him. I mean, poor guy, he was only a rookie when he got involved and he didn't kill anybody...on purpose...his gun just sort of went off. I just don't like that he was involved at all. I liked the guy, I don't want him to be a dirty cop. Should I be mad at him? Probably, but I liked the guy! He wasn't a bad guy, he worked hard to make up for it.
And of course the more major point...Beckett has a freakin' bullet in her! They shot her at a funeral! Castle was pretty awesome in defending Beckett this episode with the way he carried her out of danger when Montgomery said for him to and how he was so ready to take that bullet for her. Apparently the bravery counts for nothing. I'm not too worried since you can't really have Castle without Beckett, but still! Gunshot wound!
And finally...Castle said "I love you" to Beckett! Ha! Finally you own up! Of course it probably will be ignored/shrugged off on account of the fact she'd just been shot when he told her so she probably won't remember...or he'll say it was cuz he thought she was dying or something...sometimes I hate these writers and my friends for making me realize that the above scenarios are pretty probable. But still, he said it! Let me have my moment.
In all honesty, I do think the writers are brilliant. It was a good episode. Lots of intense moments, some pretty good writing and excellent acting. I just can't say I like the ending all that much. I mean...Montgomery dead...Beckett shot...have to wait a few months now. I don't like cliffhangers. At all.
So yeah...I really had to say something about that. Sorry if that sounds like a rant, because I don't think it's much of a "review."

Bad News, Good News
Today I have a couple of things I'd like to mention.
First off, I have a friend who's in the hospital right now. She's fine, but she's still got another couple of surgeries to deal with an infection in her back. Actually, this is her second hospitalization recently since she had to have back surgery before this. So best wishes to you, Mandi.
On a brighter note relating to Mandi, she had a brilliant idea recently. She thought that a group of us would form a book club. This book club would allow us to keep in touch with one another more regularly, and the plan would be to read a book a month, probably starting...June, I guess. However, since all of us have rather crazy lives, this would be a virtual book club. We'd blog about the book we're reading (possibly I'd put that on here, but Rachel's idea would be to create a blog for the book club which would probably be better) and then have a group chat online about it in case we can't all meet up together. I'm hoping this plan works out because I think it'd be a lot of fun.
I still have a lot of finals projects, but I'm slowly but surely working on that. I will not let things get as bad as last semester, when my dad actually had to come and rescue me from school one day after I'd been up trying to finish a project until 4:30 in the morning (I wake up at 6:00 to catch the bus) and was planning on staying after school until 7:00 that evening for a fair-thingy that was part of my French final (sorry to my group on that). I still had to finish the project the next day because staying up all night wasn't enough time. So I'd like to avoid another mental break-down situation where I'm over-extending myself.
And on a final, rather minor but happy (for me) note I got my braces off yesterday. Now I have two weeks without anything hurting my teeth! Then I get a retainer, but still.
I'll write...later. I don't know, I don't stick to a schedule for this blog.
