The season of giving
In the holiday spirit, I want to tell you guys about the store I volunteer at. It's called Ten Thousand Villages, and they have stores across the U.S. and Canada. They are a fair-trade, non-profit organization. Basically, they have beautiful hand-made items, anything from jewlry to musical insturments to toys, that are made by artisans in third world nations. Basically, because the artisans can't sell their items in their countries, Ten Thousand Villages will take the goods, sell them at their stores over here, and all the money goes to the artisans. The artisans get all the money, aren't forced to work in sweatshop conditions, and are paied fairly and quickly. Sometimes, this is the only sorce of income the artisans have. They have a lot of great gifts for good prices, and if you're still looking for a few last minute gifts I recomend you stop by. Ten Thousand Villages has amazing items for sale and every purchase helps someone in need.
