"I thought you didn't like West Side Story."
"Cal, that is not the right response."
"Yes Mom, sorry."
I was caught off guard. Anyways, while me and my dad both have some issues with the movie version, West Side Story as a stage show was incredible. The set was amazing, especially for when they were rumbling under the highway. The cast, especially the female leads, was great.
While I have some issues with over-choreographed musical violence I think the choreography in the show for the actual dance numbers was fantastic. There were a lot of fun and up-beat numbers, which always seem to stick with me a lot more. Maybe it's because they make me wish I knew how to dance.
All in all I enjoyed this show a lot more than I thought I would. I'm glad I got the chance to see it. And it was great to finally get to go to a show with just me and my dad.
And now I should probably get back to work. That's the problem with planning stuff during a normal, two-day weekend. You just want to be lazy but you don't always get the chance.
Callie
