Okay, I'll admit I am a very strange teenage girl. One of the reasons why: I've never had a crush. Ever. On anybody.
I've never felt attracted to anybody that way. I just haven't. There have been boys I think are cute, but that's it. I'm actually pretty okay with this. I mean, I don't really want to start dating. Crushes are pointless, and they basically never last.
I want to fall in love someday, but I can do that later and without the typical phase of being obsessed over boys. This will probably wind up saving me a lot of pain and rejection. And I won't fall for somebody just because they're cute.
Also, I never got the celebrity crush thing. You're never going to meet the celebrity you have a crush on, usually. And, almost always, they're so much older than you. Again, pointless and somewhat idiotic in my opinion, no matter how hot the celebrity in question is.
All in all, crushes in my opinion are a waste of time. You may not be able to help who you like, but I still think that if you're going to fall for somebody it should be somebody you can and will want to be with for a while. You shouldn't obsess over somebody you just think is cute. But hey, maybe that's just me. Like I said, I'm a weird teenager.

ReplyDeleteBut seriously, they're so pointless! And agreed about the celeb crush thing too (No I'm not a hypocrite, I just think he's pretty. Then again, I constantly fall for fictional characters, is that the same thing?)
And I don't get people who fall for people based on looks. Seriously. It's as ridiculous as my driver's ed teacher.

ReplyDeleteUm, I gotta say, just a short itme crush and totally pointless obsession is pretty stupid. I'm not one to say "OMG I've like never had a crush" (or rather, i'm not as lucky as you) But I've never had a pointless crush...even if every single time everything's fallen trhough completely XD. Still, I think that if you're going to like somebody, you ought to do it more for who they are, not for how cute they are and if you're really going to like them, then not just date like a week, but I'd totally want something more significant than a superficial relationship. And the celeb stuff, yeah, i agree. I've thought celebs are cute and hot and yeah, but i wouldn't allow myself to fall for one cuz you don't even know how they are in real life.
You're killin' me here, Callie. Anyways, my celebrity crush is also my fictional boyfriend, and I'm a barrel of fail anyway.
