I've recently started learning how to drive. Yes, it's exciting. Yes, it'll give me freedom to go wherever I want, well, so long as I have a car. Yes, I'm glad I'm finally old enough. But I'm terrified too.
I'm driving a couple of tons of metal down the road. What happens if I mess up? I could hurt or kill somebody. How am I going to focus on everything at once? How am I going to be able to react in time if something goes wrong?
O.K., deep breath. Being nervous behind the wheel is only making things worse. Stay calm. There, now, don't think about that. Focus on the road. What's comming up ahead of you? Good, just a slight adjustment with the steering wheel. Not too much! There, that's better.
Right, one step at a time. I haven't crashed, so far. My dad's car isn't scratched up. And, I actually got behind the wheel for the first time. Maybe I can avoid killing anybody afterall. Of course, I still need to actually earn the liscense and practice a lot more before I hit the streets. Still, I'm getting there.
Agreed. I'm going out driving next week and I'm totally terrified. -_- I'm not worried about you, darlin, you're gonna be a good driver.
ReplyDeleteActually, I tend to get so nervous, I'm going all over the road at this point. I'm working on it though.
